Lehman's exists to encourage simple, self-sufficient living, and we strive for this to be reflected in our print and online publications.

Submissions should be concerned with some aspect of simple, self-sufficient living. Because it is difficult to be truly self-sufficient in the city, most of our articles will have a decidedly "pro-country" and "pro-nature" slant.

We will consider for publication: "how-to" articles about a particular skill or tool; articles on new (or old!) technology that can make self-sufficient living easier or better in some way; articles on social issues or events related in some way to self-sufficient or counry living; and, finally, humorous, touching, or idealistic stories related in some way to country/self-sufficient living.

Of course, we can't guarantee acceptance of every manuscript, or even publication of every manuscript we accept. Lehman's reserves the right to reject any submission for any reason.

All articles should be written for a general audience whose common thread is a liking for the ideals of self-sufficient country living.

Writers who can provide well-researched articles written with a high-level of "polish" have the greatest chance of being published, but this does not mean that we are necessarily looking for established or previously published writers. "Polish" could be defined as properly combining solid fact, careful word-choice, thematic structure, quotations, and, in some cases, humor, to achieve artistic excellence.

All submitted manuscripts become the exclusive property of Lehman's upon acceptance of payment. As our exclusive property, Lehman's will have total, absolute, and all rights to the manuscript(s). Payment for manuscripts is currently fifty dollars; this is subject to change in the future without notice.
